In a bold move, Real Madrid is planning a summer spending spree that could reshape European football. The Spanish giants have never been shy of going for that Galactico-era summer transfer window, and 2024 could be that time.
According to AS, the Spanish powerhouse has set its sights on two of the most sought-after talents in the game—Paris Saint-Germain’s Kylian Mbappé and Manchester City’s Erling Haaland.

Los Blancos can begin their spending spree with Mbappé when the calendar turns to 2024. The La Liga side can talk with the Frenchman over a pre-contract that will start next season.
Meanwhile, Real Madrid will need to pay a substantial fee for Haaland. Nonetheless, the club is no stranger to making marquee signings, having previously brought in global superstars like Cristiano Ronaldo.
Since Ronaldo and Karim Benzema have left, they likely want that duo that will be at the forefront of their attack and have that global name attached to them, too.
Still, with Mbappé and Haaland battling for the Ballon d’Or, it’s hard seeing them being teammates.
As a Norwegian I find it hardly probable that Haaland holds any fascination with Real Madrid. If he swaps his Premier League career for an more obscure career in La Liga, it would probably not happen until much later in his career. Norwegians have an innate fascination with English football, and Haaland has had this attraction for Manchester City since boyhood.
Most of what hear and read about this issue is just wishful thinking based on the belief that La Liga is more attractive than it is.
