The recent comments from Spanish pundit Roberto Gómez on El Desmarque de Madrugada might be why Real Madrid had to issue a press release on Saturday.
According to Gómez, Real Madrid would have already signed Paris Saint-Germain star Kylian Mbappé. The 24-year-old cannot sign a contract with another club until January 1.
Furthermore, Gómez states that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez has signed him for some time. He also says that Real Madrid will announce the signing during the January transfer window.
However, this information might be too close to the fire for the Spanish side’s liking. As a result, Los Blancos had to come out with a statement denying any negotiations with Mbappé.
“Given information in the media about negotiations between the player Kylian Mbappé and our club, Real Madrid state that this information is categorically false,” the statement said. “Negotiations have not taken place with a player who belongs to PSG.”

The January transfer window is inching closer, and these reports and information will only get louder. If PSG advances to the UEFA Champions League knockout stage, no decision will likely be announced in January so as not to be a distraction.
