Ousmane Dembélé Reacts to Scoring His First PSG Goal in the Win Over Monaco

Paris Saint-Germain picked up an impressive 5-2 win over AS Monaco on Friday night at the Parc des Princes. One of the goals came courtesy of Ousmane Dembélé, who scored his first for the French giants

It was a think-fast type of player where Dembélé received the ball and fired off a rocket to beat the AS Monaco goalkeeper. After the match, the 26-year-old offered his thoughts on finally getting that scoring burden off his shoulders.

“Yes, it’s nice; I’m happy,” Dembélé told Prime Video (h/t Paris Fans). “But the most important thing is that the team continues this winning dynamic, especially in Ligue 1. We are still expecting a lot of support on Tuesday against Newcastle. We will have to win the next two matches in the Champions League.

“It’s nice, but I didn’t ask myself any questions and decided to pull hard even though I know that it doesn’t often work for me, but there it went, and I’m happy.”

If PSG wants to beat Newcastle United next week, a confident Dembélé could be a game-changer for the French giants. A win over the Premier League club puts the capital club with one foot in the knockout stages.

Dembélé has become a creator for PSG so far this 2023-24 season. However, should the winger begin scoring goals consistently, it becomes a game-changer for the Parisians, who hope to have a deep run in the Champions League.
