Paris Saint-Germain didn’t have a good first leg against Newcastle United on Matchday 2. The Premier League side secured a lopsided 4-1 win over the French giants.
Furthermore, it was a quiet contest from Kylian Mbappé, who didn’t factor in the scoring or generate much danger chances. As a result, Olivier Bernard of BBC radio told Le Parisien that there was disappointment over the Frenchman’s performances.
However, Bernard states there’s concern that Newcastle will face a PSG side on Tuesday night at the Parc des Princes with Mbappé ready to break out and have an impressive game.
“People were so disappointed by his performance, they were bruised, they expected a twirling Mbappé,” Bernard said. “But now everyone is afraid of waking up!”

The 24-year-old likely knows what he needs to raise his game in these final two games to win Group F. If Mbappé can carry PSG to a win over the Magpies, the Ligue 1 side could put one foot into the UEFA Champions League round of 16.
Furthermore, if AC Milan loses to Borussia Dortmund, the Parisians will have their ticket to the knockout stages.
