Paris Saint-Germain wants to continue its new philosophy of recruiting top French talent, especially young players. As a result, reports say sporting advisor Luis Campos has his eyes on two Lille OSC players.
Campos probably wants to have the eventual replacement for Marquinhos and possibly Presnel Kimpembe, who is out of a contract after this 2023-24 season. Furthermore, with criticisms of Gianluigi Donnarumma, he’s keen on bringing competition to the Italian shot-stopper.
So, who are the two players? Foot Mercato reported on Tuesday that Leny Yoro and Lucas Chevalier. Yoro is 17 years old but is already one of the defenders who wins the most duels in Ligue 1.
Furthermore, the teenager is considered one of the best central defenders of his generation. Meanwhile, Chevalier is also considered one of the best French goalkeepers, with six clean sheets in 11 Ligue 1 matches and 10 goals conceded.
It will be interesting to see whether PSG can secure these top talents. The Parisians are building an excellent base of young French players with Warren Zaïre-Emery and Bradley Barcola, and they could see additions next summer.
