The January transfer window is about to open, allowing Kylian Mbappé to negotiate with other clubs for a pre-contract. However, asking the 24-year-old about his future with the French national team can upset him.
Mbappé recently provided an explosive response to a reporter at his press conference before France’s epic 14-0 beatdown of Gibraltar. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner completed his hat-trick with a fantastic goal to cap off his night.
While speaking with TF1, the French media outlet asked the Paris Saint-Germain winger about his future, and again, it was met with resistance from the player.
“It’s something I don’t want to discuss, especially since I already did it in June, and it took up a big part of the national team,” Mbappé said. (h/t RMC Sport). “I really want us to talk about the team nationally. We have had very good results.
“I want people to talk about that rather than about me, about something that will be resolved one day. There will be time to talk about that.”
Recent news out of Spain suggests that Real Madrid is ruling out pursuing the Parisian as a free agent next year. Even though reports in Spain suggest Real Madrid is out of the race, information in France says otherwise.
One French outlet debunked the news, stating that the La Liga side is in the race. So, it will be interesting to see how this transfer saga plays out. Before deciding, Mbappé’s decision will probably depend on how PSG does in the UEFA Champions League.
