Paris Saint-Germain recently triggered the option to buy Gonçalo Ramos, securing the Portuguese talent until 2028. The club invested considerably in the promising player, paying a €20 million loan fee as part of an €80 million deal.
Manager Luis Enrique spoke about the news ahead of PSG’s Ligue 1 match against AS Monaco. The Spanish boss is more than happy to have Ramos now as part of his long-term plans as he molds the French giants into his vision.
“It’s news that pleases me a lot and makes me happy, for what Gonçalo means as a player,” Enrique told reporters (h/t Culture PSG). “But if I think of Gonçalo as a person, I’m even happier. He is a player of the future for the club.
“He is an imposing striker. He can deal with many situations. He has good striking qualities in the game and training. I am very happy that his option was exercised.”
Le Parisien reports that Ramos has PSG management’s and Enrique’s confidence, who appreciate his qualities and personality. The Portuguese striker’s profile is entirely part of the club’s collective project.
The French media outlet adds that PSG triggering Ramos’ option to buy clause early confirms and reflects the sound financial health of the club.
Since joining Paris Saint-Germain, he has made 15 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He scored both goals in late September against their arch-rivals, Olympique de Marseille.
Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani have been sharing playing time as strikers at Parc des Princes since joining during the summer transfer window
