Le Parisien: Why Paris Saint-Germain Opted for Gonçalo Ramos Permanently

Paris Saint-Germain has officially announced the triggering of the option to buy Gonçalo Ramos, securing the Portuguese talent until 2028.

The deal, reportedly valued at €80 million, involved a substantial €20 million loan fee, highlighting the club’s willingness to invest considerably in the promising player.

Furthermore, Le Parisien reports that Ramos has the confidence of the sports management and Luis Enrique, who appreciate his qualities and personality. The Portuguese striker’s profile is entirely part of the club’s collective project.

The French media outlet adds that PSG triggering Ramos’s option to buy clause early confirms and reflects the sound financial health of the club.

Since joining Paris Saint-Germain, he has made 15 appearances, scoring two goals and providing one assist. He scored both goals in late September against their arch-rivals, Olympique de Marseille.

Ramos is currently sharing playing time with Randal Kolo Muani in the striker position, who also joined Parc des Princes during the summer transfer window. However, Ramos is no longer competing with Hugo Ekitiké, who is currently out of the first-team squad.
