Kylian Mbappé Takes a Stand: Slams AC Milan Fans Over Donnarumma Treatment

When stepping onto the pitch, Gianluigi Donnarumma was Public Enemy No. 1 on Tuesday night. The 24-year-old was playing against AC Milan for the first time at San Siro after leaving as a free agent and not on the best terms with the Serie A side.

AC Milan supporters whistled, booed, and even threw fake money at the Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper. Nonetheless, Kylian Mbappé stood up for his teammate. Furthermore, he slammed the fans for their behavior.

“They gave Gigio quite a difficult reception,” Mbappé told reporters. “I think it was a bit too much, but there you go, that’s football today. The fans do what they want. We can’t tell them what to do. We tried to protect Gigio as much as possible.”

Donnarumma made some critical stops in the match, but it was to no avail as the Ligue 1 side fell 2-1 to AC Milan. PSG fumbled a chance to put themselves at the doorstep to clinch a round of 16 spot.

PSG does face a challenging task in the final two matchdays. However, the capital club does control its destiny. As long as the French giants secure two wins, they punch their ticket to the next stage of the competition.
