The January transfer window is close to opening, so Paris Saint-Germain winger Kylian Mbappé can talk with any club over a pre-contract.
What will the 24-year-old do? It remains a mystery, even when the French media attempted to take the temperature of his future. However, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner wasn’t giving time to those questions.
Mbappé shot down any questions that pertained to PSG and his future. He notes that when speaking as captain of the French national team, the questions should be about Les Bleus.
“This is absolutely not the news from the France team,” Mbappé told reporters (h/t Paris Fans). “I am here as captain of the France team, and I would like to remain so for the next 10 days.
“If you have this question and it is important to you, you should come to campus and ask me, and I will answer it if I am called to come to a press conference.”
Recent news out of Spain would indicate that Real Madrid is ruling out seeking the Parisian as a free agent next year.
Even though reports in Spain suggest Real Madrid is out of the race, information in France says otherwise. One French outlet debunked the news, stating that the La Liga side is very much in the race.
So, it will be interesting to see how this transfer saga plays out. Before deciding, Mbappé’s decision will likely depend on how PSG does in the UEFA Champions League.
