Juve and Man Utd Boost? Romano on PSG’s Interest in Monaco Midfielder

Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano gave a crucial update on Paris Saint-Germain’s rumored interest in AS Monaco midfielder Youssouf Fofana.

Over the last few weeks, the capital club’s name has come up in connection with the French player. Furthermore, it is now time for the Ligue 1 side to secure a transfer fee for Fofona, whose contract expires in June 2025.

While Monaco could be looking to sell with the January transfer window opening in a few weeks, Romano did pour cold water on PSG’s interest in Fofana.

According to the journalist, Fofana is not a concrete target for PSG. Additionally, other clubs are pushing more to sign the Frenchman than the Parisians.

The Monaco midfielder is the subject of intense interest from other European giants. Juventus and Manchester United are reportedly among the clubs in the race to secure his signature.

Juventus has taken a meticulous approach to scouting Fofana, making their presence felt at numerous Monaco matches over the past few weeks.

Meanwhile, Manchester United submitted a loan proposal that included an option to purchase Fofana in the summer transfer window’s closing days.

However, the proposed arrangement appears to have encountered complications, leading to a roadblock in the negotiations and no deal materializing before the transfer window deadline.

Regardless, Fofana is a name to watch to see if he moves in the coming weeks or if next summer will be an ideal time to leave the Ligue 1 side.
