Paris Saint-Germain’s Ousmane Dembélé is opening up about the details that resulted in him leaving FC Barcelona in an interview with L’Equipe.
The 26-year-old noted PSG’s persistence in bringing him back to France and their project, which convinced him to leave the Catalan club this past summer. Nonetheless, many will ask, did Kylian Mbappé play a role in his recruitment?
Dembélé opened up about the 24-year-old’s role in his arrival in the French capital and recounted a hilarious tale as to what happened.
“If Kylian Mbappé participated in my arrival at PSG? No (laughs),” Dembélé told the media outlet. “There wasn’t even a call. He asked me if I was going to come, that’s all. He didn’t try to convince me or anything.”

While Mbappé didn’t play a role in the former Barcelona player coming to Paris, he did use his recruiting skills to help PSG land Lucas Hernandez. The 27-year-old noted the behind-the-scenes details regarding the PSG star’s pitch for the defender to join him.
It will be interesting to see if all these French players that the Ligue 1 side landed this past summer decide to recruit players while playing with Les Bleus or simply having friendships.
