Arriving free this summer at Paris Saint-Germain, Cher Ndour left SL Benfica after three seasons. Although he refused to extend with the Lisbon club, the 19-year-old midfielder struggles to get playing time with PSG this 2023-24 season.
However, he refused to go on loan after signing with the French capital, despite interest from Sampdoria and Braga. In an interview with Rai, the midfielder noted his relationship with manager Luis Enrique.
Furthermore, the Italian notes what being teammates with Kylian Mbappé is like. Ndour reveals his initial reaction to how the Frenchman performs during training sessions and games.
“Seeing Kylian Mbappé train up close is remarkable,” Ndour said (h/t Football Italia). “He does things you just cannot explain. I speak Italian with Luis Enrique, and in a few months, he has already been able to improve me a lot.”
It will be how the young midfielder develops, as PSG will allow players to take on more prominent roles despite their age. Ndour has seen some minutes, and it seems Enrique is slowly bringing him along.
The teenager brings height, which is something that would be a welcome presence, so there’s potential for him to grow into this team.
