AC Milan’s Stefano Pioli Gives Injury Update on Theo Hernandez Ahead of PSG Clash

AC Milan needs a win over Paris Saint-Germain on Tuesday at the San Siro to keep any dwindling chances of advancing to the UEFA Champions League knockout stages. However, they might face the French giants without one of their best players, Theo Hernandez.

The Serie A side fell 1-0 to Udinese, but Hernandez didn’t play due to an ankle injury. AC Milan is already in a deep hole with two points and desperately needs a win over PSG. Manager Stefano Pioli spoke after the loss and noted that the Frenchman’s exit wasn’t due to precaution.

“Today was not precautionary,” Pioli told DAZN (h/t Milan News). “He took a blow to his ankle yesterday, and I hope that two or three days will be enough to recover.”

Meanwhile, PSG could take control of Group F with a win. The capital club will need to take advantage of a depleted AC Milan squad, whom they beat 3-0 a couple of weeks ago.

If the Ligue 1 side gets all three points on Tuesday, they put themselves in the driver’s seat to punch their ticket to the knockout stage and finish first in the group.
