Ousmane Dembélé is in Year 1 with Paris Saint-Germain, and the 26-year-old recently gave a lengthy interview to discuss many topics. The winger also spoke about his first few months in the French capital.
While the goal-scoring is lacking, the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner has become a creator on the squad. Nonetheless, the forward recounted his first few days with the Ligue 1 giants.
“When I signed for PSG, everything went well,” Dembélé said (h/t Paris Fans). “I had the coach, the president, and the sports director; they convinced me to come to PSG. I knew they were interested for several years, and I think it was the right time. I was very well received in a young and hungry group.”
Furthermore, Dembélé might have taken a shot at FC Barcelona supporters after spending seven years with the Spanish club. The PSG star notes that it’s been a while since he has played in an atmosphere like the Parc des Princes.
“It’s been a long time since I played in a stadium with such a great atmosphere,” Dembélé added. “They push us until the last minute. They encourage us. We need them to be able to surpass themselves on the field.”
The PSG star now hopes to write a successful chapter with PSG that allows him to bring the UEFA Champions League to the French capital. If he can do so, the signing will be a success for the Parisians, who are targeting top talent from France.
