Aston Villa, Brighton, and Valencia Battle for PSG’s €18M Struggling Talent – Report

Paris Saint-Germain’s Spanish midfielder, Carlos Soler, is reportedly considering a move away from the French capital when the January transfer window opens.

The former Valencia star joined the club on a five-year contract, with the initial transfer fee set at €18 million, potentially rising by an additional €3 million in the 2022 summer transfer window.

Soler has yet to establish himself as a starter for the Ligue 1 giants in two seasons. Furthermore, under new manager Luis Enrique, he rarely plays and slides further down the bench. As a result, it’s ideal for both parties to part ways.

Le Parisien reports that several clubs have expressed interest, and a potential return to his former club, Valencia, is one of the most enticing options. Premier League sides Brighton & Hove Albion and Aston Villa have also shown interest in the talented Spaniard.

Soler’s history with the Spanish club runs deep, having spent time in their youth academy and going on to make a name for himself in their first team. Returning to Mestalla would provide him with a familiar environment and a chance to reignite his career.

Brighton could use more depth as they battle for a top-four finish. The Seagulls currently sit one point from fourth place, so having players for the tough fight would explain their interest in Soler.

Meanwhile, the same thing can be said about Aston Villa, who have 16 points. Furthermore, the Lions have a Spanish manager in Unai Emery, so it is no surprise that he’d like to add a talented Spaniard.
