PSG’s Gloom Over Kylian Mbappé’s Future Amid Real Madrid Rumors

The Kylian Mbappé-Real Madrid saga continues to be an ongoing soap opera with twists and turns. The latest report details the feeling that Paris Saint-Germain has with the January 1 date approaching.

Mbappé can become a free agent after the 2023-24 season. Furthermore, he’s able to sign a pre-contract as soon as the calendar turns to 2024.

As a result, The Athletic’s Mario Cortegana (h/t Defensa Central) reveals that PSG’s board appears to have a diminishing sense of optimism about the possibility of retaining the Frenchman past this season.

Los Blancos want to land Mbappé as a free agent. However, with the Spanish club’s past attempts, they hope to learn from past mistakes.

According to Spanish media outlet SPORT, to avoid a repeat of last summer’s transfer saga, Real Madrid insists on guarantees from Mbappe that he will fully commit to a switch to the Santiago Bernabeu by the end of the season before making an official approach.

Nonetheless, the La Liga side also faces competition from Premier League clubs. Reports of Mbappe’s representatives engaging in discussions with English sides Liverpool and Chelsea raise concerns at the Santiago Bernabeu.

It will be interesting to see how this entire saga officially ends, and the January window will provide much clarity.
