‘Special’ – Kang-in Lee Shares Special Connection with Former PSG Star Neymar Jr.

Kang-in Lee’s confidence is likely at an all-time high. The 22-year-old won a gold medal at the 2023 Asian Games with the South Korean national team, and then last Wednesday, he scored in Paris Saint-Germain’s 3-0 win over AC Milan at the Parc des Princes.

Lee spoke postgame with TNT Sports Brazil, and although he was coming off scoring his first goal with PSG, the outlet had a unique question for the former RCD Mallorca star.

The Brazilian media outlet asked the South Korean what players from Brazil he grew up idolizing. Lee gave an interesting response, noting his former teammate Neymar Jr. as a player that impacted him growing up.

“A Brazilian player who inspired me a lot? Lots of players from a young age,” Lee said. “I think I’ve always been inspired by the Brazilian player Sávio, one of the players I saw a lot, but there are others.

“When I arrived in Spain, I met him here also at PSG, Neymar. For me, it was very special to spend time with Ney, and also because just when I arrived in Spain, he arrived in Spain at the same time as me.”

Lee likely hopes that this good form carries him into the return leg against AC Milan at San Siro. A favorable result could mean PSG controls their future as to whether they clinch a knockout spot.

Additionally, PSG brought in players like the midfielder, eager to make a difference and a name for themselves.
