Spanish Journalist Reveals Real Madrid’s Plan for Mbappé and Haaland

Real Madrid have long wanted Kylian Mbappé, and they’ll try again in 2024 to land the Frenchman. If the 24-year-old doesn’t sign a contract extension with Paris Saint-Germain, he can hold talks over a pre-contract for the 2024–25 season.

However, the Spanish club likely knows the 24-year-old won’t solve their No. 9 problem. The PSG star is content playing out on the wing. As a result, Real Madrid will need to find a striker.

El Chiringuito’s Josep Pedrerol revealed that Real Madrid president Florentino Pérez’s objective is to recruit Mbappé and Erling Haaland. According to Pedrerol, he does not doubt the intentions of the Merengue president and affirms that Real Madrid will try to afford the two players.

If there should be no problems with Mbappé, who will a priori be free if nothing changes, it logically looks more complicated for Haaland. There is the famous release clause of €200 million, which a club can activate in 2024.

Still, it is an amount that remains very substantial for Los Blancos, who have instead been cautious and measured in recent years.

  1. Ha ha. Why would Haaland move from the most competitive league in the world to the broke and fading La Liga?
