Real Madrid to Say Goodbye to Key Player in Kylian Mbappé Signing? – Report

Real Madrid’s pursuit of Kylian Mbappé will come at a cost for one player on the current squad. Many already know the Frenchman isn’t a No. 9 and prefers playing on the wing.

Furthermore, with Vinicius Jr. signing a new contract, he’s not on the way out or sitting on the bench. As a result, all signs put Rodrygo as the odd man out in the starting 11 for the 24-year-old.

A recent report revealed that the Brazilian will be pulled out to insert Mbappé. Nonetheless, new information from OK Diario (h/t Le10Sport) indicates that Real Madrid could part ways with Rodrygo next summer to finance Mbappé’s significant bonus.

Furthermore, to fill Rodrygo’s potential departure, Los Blanco could consider the return of Takefusa Kubo, who is currently at Real Sociedad. Should the PSG star leave, this situation will be one of the dominos to fall.

As for the 22-year-old, he might have to begin looking at other options. With 2024 Copa America on the horizon, Rodrygo cannot afford to come off the bench and solidify a role on the team next summer.

Still, if the Mbappé saga has taught anyone anything, expect the unexpected. Whether this situation will happen remains to be seen.
