It’s no secret that Kylian Mbappé is one of the top decisive players in football. The question now is, where does the 24-year-old rank among the top forwards in the top five leagues in Europe?
FBref compiled a goal + assist per 90 stat list of the most decisive players (excluding penalties) in the 21st century. Additionally, there’s only one player ahead of the Frenchman.
Former FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi (1.25) is ahead of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner. Speaking of Barcelona, it’s Mbappé surrounded by several players who have played or are currently playing for the Catalan side.
Behind Mbappé, there’s Luis Suarez (0.99), Robert Lewandowski (0.95), and Neymar Jr. (0.94) to round out the top-five list. As the years go by, it will be interesting to see if the PSG winger ends up at the top, surpassing Messi.

There’s another side regarding which players could join Mbappé, such as Manchester City’s Erling Haaland. This entire list could look a little different in a couple of years.
