Bayern Munich is a well-oiled machine in the UEFA Champions League group stage. The German side crushed their European competition, and their latest opponent to suffer defeat was Galatasaray.
The Turkish giants fell 3-1 to Bayern Munich on Tuesday at RAMS Park. However, it was a tight contest early on before the Bundesliga club eventually pulled away.
After Bayern Munich went up 1-0 early in the game, Galatasaray leveled the scoring at 1-1 thanks to a goal from Mauro Icardi. Nonetheless, late in the game, the reigning German champions scored twice at the 73rd and 79th-minute marks to give themselves the win.
So, what does this contest have to do with Paris Saint-Germain? Well, CBS Sports’ Ben Jacobs pointed out that the last time Bayern Munich lost a game in the group stage was to PSG.
Bayern Munich are now unbeaten in 37 Champions League group-stage matches. Their last loss was 3-0 to PSG in 2017, and they have won 16 straight group-stage games. This winning streak could extend to 19 games, with three more matches left in the group stage.
Another goal for Harry Kane as Bayern beat Galatasaray 3-1. He now has 11 in 12 games.
