It’s four straight games in all competitions that Kylian Mbappé doesn’t score. Even in the 3-1 win over Stade Rennais on Saturday, the 24-year-old missed an easy goal late in the contest. As a result, there are questions about what’s going on with the Frenchman.
While there are opinions on why the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is struggling, that noise isn’t reaching the Paris Saint-Germain dressing room. Manager Luis Enrique isn’t worrying about the winger’s recent production.
Furthermore, Ousmane Dembélé isn’t expressing any concern over the issue during his postgame interview with Prime Video.
“Kylian? I think he was tired in this match,” Dembélé told the outlet (h/t Le10Sport). “We play every three days; it weighs a little, but no, he is not frustrated. He will score quickly.”
Mbappé has dealt with an ankle injury he suffered during the 4-0 win against Olympique de Marseille on Sept. 24. The forward have to leave that contest and hasn’t been the same since.
If it’s injury or mental, PSG will need a focus Mbappé in their back-to-back UEFA Champions League contests against AC Milan. Both those matches could determine which club puts themselves in a position to advance to the knockout stages.
