PSG Ties Stay on Sidelines: David Beckham’s Manchester United Takeover Stance

A Manchester United takeover isn’t happening now, as the ownership situation is in limbo. After the Glazers initially put the Premier League club up for sale, the owners took them off the market in early September despite interested parties.

Following this latest twist last month, the question now is, what’s next for the Red Devils? Qatar’s Sheikh Jassim bin Hamad al Thani was one of the candidates to buy Manchester United before the Glazers pulled the club to prevent a takeover.

Ex-Manchester United star David Beckham was recently asked about his possible involvement in helping Qatar secure the English club. Nonetheless, for now, Beckham is in no position to help facilitate a takeover from Qatar.

“So far, there’ve been no talks about me being an ambassador for Qatar to buy Man United,” Beckham told NBC. “I have a long-standing relationship with Qatar due to my time at PSG. People are going to make the connection between the two.”

The Red Devils’ performance isn’t helping the situation; they’re currently in 10th place with 12 points. Furthermore, in the Champions League, Erik ten Hag and Co. are in last place with zero points through two matches.

It will be interesting to see whether supporter pressure forces the Glazers to put Manchester United back on the market.
