Paris Saint-Germain might have some insight into Newcastle United ahead of the Matchday 2 UEFA Champions League contest on Wednesday at St. James’ Park. The Magpies faced Theo Hernandez and AC Milan on Matchday 1, who might have spoken to his brother to get a tip or two.
Before the match, reporters spoke with Lucas Hernandez and asked if the AC Milan defender gave any advice on preparing for the Premier League club. Hernandez revealed Newcastle’s key traits but didn’t go into detail about the players.
“It was a different match,” Hernandez told reporters (h/t Paris Fans). “He told me they are a very strong team, but they had a lot of chances. But if we don’t score, it’s complicated. There are players offensively who make good counter-attacks and who go quite quickly. But I didn’t ask him too much about the players (smile).”
The 27-year-old also revealed the mentality that the squad has heading into a hostile environment at St. James’ Park. Nonetheless, Hernandez notes that PSG intends to walk onto the pitch to execute their game plan.
A win over Newcastle would allow PSG to have six of six points and have a clear both to qualify for the knockout stage. They’re not out of the woods but in a favorable situation.
Can they secure the win? It will be an exciting game, that’s for sure.
