Former Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi lifted the 2023 Ballond’Or for his eighth overall award. The Argentine beat Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and his former Paris Saint-Germain teammate Kylian Mbappé.
Even though the Frenchman lost out to the Argentine, Mbappé went on Instagram to congratulate the now Inter Miami star on winning the Ballon d’Or.
“Congratulations, Leo, for your award,” Mbappé wrote on his Instagram story. “You deserve it.”
Nonetheless, Messi foresees the 2018 FIFA World Cup winning the award in the future, considering the PSG star is one of the best players in the world and barely scratching his prime years.
