What Position Does Kang-in Lee Shine at PSG? Luis Enrique Gives His Take

Kang-in Lee is back with Paris Saint-Germain after being with the South Korean national team for the 2023 Asian Games. The 22-year-old will now look to solidify a role with the capital club and make an impact in a crucial part of their schedule.

Now, where could PSG get the most out of Lee? PSG manager Luis Enrique spoke with reporters on Friday and revealed where the former RCD Mallorca star will flourish.

“Since Kang-in has been with us, he has already shown his level, including in the selection,” Enrique told reporters (h/t Culture PSG). “For us, with our system, his preferred position would be to play as a relay midfielder.

“[However], he can also play as a winger on his strong foot or on the opposite side, and he can also be a center forward, false No. 9 or player of support. He has finishing qualities in the last passes. He’s a very interesting player. We are very happy to have him with us.”

Lee will reportedly be in PSG’s starting 11 for their contest against RC Strasbourg Alsace on Saturday at the Parc des Princes. This game will be a warm-up for the most crucial match of the 2023-24 season so far, against AC Milan on Wednesday at the Parc des Princes.

It will be the first of two straight UEFA Champions League matches against the Serie A giants. If PSG wants to position themselves to advance to the knockout stages, they’ll need at least four points.

Can Lee help the Ligue 1 side? He’s playing at such a good level that he just might.
