How Juventus Will Attempt to Keep PSG, Manchester United Target, Expert Reveals

Paris Saint-Germain’s midfield went through change this past summer transfer window with their midfield. Manuel Ugarte came in to secure the defensive midfield position and a promising player in Cher Ndour; meanwhile, Kang-in Lee can also play in the midfield.

Nonetheless, could the French giants look to secure another player next summer? French football expert Jonathan Johnson dropped one name that PSG has considered, Adrien Rabiot.

Rabiot left PSG in 2019 and joined Juventus. However, his time with the Serie A club could end after this 2023-24 season. The 28-year-old contract expires next June, and there will be a market for him. PSG and Manchester United could revisit their interest in the player.

“Rabiot has interested a lot of clubs outside of Italy in recent years – PSG have thought about trying to bring him back, while Premier League clubs such as Manchester United, Newcastle, and others have also watched,” Johnson wrote in his Caught Offside column (h/t Le10Sport).

“The future of Adrien Rabiot at Juventus remains very uncertain, which is why he only signed a short-term contract extension this summer. What happens next is not yet clear, particularly with regard to the situation of Paul Pogba.”

Still, Rabiot’s future could be tied to whether Juventus can move on from Paul Pogba. The Frenchman faces a ban of up to four years after testing positive for testosterone.

As a result, the Italian side will do what it can to avoid paying what it owes him. If Juventus has extra money due to Pogba’s situation, they’ll push to keep Rabiot.

“If it turns out Juventus have reason to part ways with Pogba due to the recent controversy, it could mean they have more money to offer Rabiot a long-term contract,” Johnson added.

“However, the big question is what Juve’s long-term strategy is going forward. I think that could include someone like Rabiot, but certainly, getting rid of a high-earning player like Pogba would make things easier for Juve.”
