‘It’s a Scam’ – Messi’s Bold Move to Inter Miami Is Slammed by French Pundit

RMC Sport’s Daniel Riolo is taking multiple shots at former Paris Saint-Germain star Lionel Messi. Although the 36-year-old is gone, it doesn’t mean the French media isn’t stopping from taking jabs at him.

Recently, Riolo noted that the Argentine used the capital club during his two seasons with PSG. Furthermore, he did take a shot at the Ligue 1 giants for recruiting the former FC Barcelona star.

Since Messi’s departure, the 2022 FIFA World Cup winner has never hesitated to take a swipe at PSG. Nonetheless, Rio took a shot at the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner for his production with Inter Miami in MLS.

“He is going to the United States with a completely business approach,” Riolo said on Le Figaro Live (h/t Le10Sport). “He benefits from it, but MLS also benefits from it. He’s not the crook. The scam is complete because he only plays four matches.

“Four matches against puppets, players who let him shine a little for one last lap; he only played four games, and MLS wanted to give him player of the year. Obviously, it’s a scam, it’s advertising, it’s marketing, but it’s not football.”

Messi’s exit from PSG did usher in a new transfer policy that steers the French giants away from star players. Neymar Jr. also left this past summer as the Brazilian left for Saudi Arabia.

Instead of players like Messi and Neymar, the Parisians want to bring in top French talent and players who can function as a team, especially those from the Great Paris Area.
