Injury Update: Latest on Marco Asensio as Ex-Real Marid Man Nears Return to PSG

Paris Saint-Germain’s attack could improve as Marco Asensio is trending toward a return. The Spanish international suffered a bruised foot during Spain’s 7-1 win over Georgia in early September.

The injury couldn’t have come at a worse time as the 27-year-old was in good form playing the false No. 9 role. Nonetheless, French journalist Marc Mechenoua reported Monday that Asensio participated in part of PSG’s collective training session this morning.

The Spaniard is feeling fine and has not experienced any particular discomfort. As a result, it could be a matter of time before the former Real Madrid star returns to the pitch for PSG.

It will be interesting to see the approach that the French giants take. Will they play the patient game and wait until after the October FIFA international break, or get him minutes before the pause?

Nonetheless, it’s more options for manager Luis Enrique and more depth for the PSG attack as they’ll need to begin rotating players, especially if they want to go deep in various competitions.
