After a four-game goal drought, Kylian Mbappé has found his scoring boots and has scored in his last three games. The 24-year-old scored three goals in two games with the French national team and then one with Paris Saint-Germain after returning from the FIFA international break.
With the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner having confidence, AC Milan knows who they must contain if they want to leave Wednesday’s UEFA Champions League contest at Parc des Princes with a favorable result.
AC Milan manager Stefano Pioli spoke with reporters on Tuesday. He was asked how the squad would defend the French winger during his press conference.
“He has incredible movement ability,” Pioli told reporters (h/t Paris Fans). “The player in front of him must be ready to try to anticipate his movements.”
Furthermore, Pioli wasn’t the only person having to answer how the Serie A side would keep Mbappé quiet. Milan striker Olivier Giroud also had to answer the vital question about containing his teammate on the French national team.
“I know him very well,” Giroud told reporters (h/t Paris Fans). “We have been playing together for almost six years. His talent is exceptional. He is one of the best players in the world; we must be focused on him.”
Mbappé has yet to have that breakout performance in the Champions League. PSG could use one of those on Wednesday.
