The mental mishap by Marquinhos in another pressure game raises the question of whether the 29-year-old should be captain. It’s up to the Brazilian to have composure in tense situations, and so far, he’s failed. So, who should wear the armband? Well, it might be Lucas Hernandez.

Hernandez arrived this summer from Bayern Munich for a €40 million transfer fee. Despite being from Marseille, the 27-year-old has appeared to embrace playing in the French capital.

RMC Sports’ Fabrice Hawkins reports that some internally at PSG would have welcomed Hernandez as one of the captains. The Frenchman is asserting himself more and more as an executive.

Furthermore, reports reveal that the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner never hesitates to speak up when things are not going well and is well respected by his teammates.

Is Kylian Mbappé not in the right state of mind?

During the summer transfer window, Kylian Mbappé had a challenging period as it seemed as though PSG was ready to move on from their star player.

The 24-year-old opted not to trigger his option to extend his contract until 2025. As a result, the Frenchman had a summer surrounded by rumors, mostly linking him to Real Madrid

After PSG’s 4-1 loss to Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League, Le Parisien reported on the mindset of the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner. According to the French media outlet, Mbappé is suffering a form of mental weariness after his complicated summer.

The loft, the experience, weighed heavily on him psychologically. He did not like this standoff imposed by the club, this sidelining which he sometimes likened to moral harassment.

It will be interesting to see whether or not this lingers on throughout the group stage.
