Ex-Player Gives Interesting Reference to PSG’s Arrival In Newcastle

Paris Saint-Germain is already in Newcastle for their Matchday 2 UEFA Champions League contest with the Magpies. Furthermore, once the ball gets rolling, it will be the first Champions League game at St. James’ Park in 20 years.

Ahead of the matchup on Wednesday and with PSG already in the city, former player David Ginola spoke with Le Parisien to describe the atmosphere in town.

“The coming of Paris is as if the Eiffel Tower was moving to St. James’ Park!” Ginola told the French media outlet (h/t Paris Fans). “It makes them proud because they are part of the elite. Everything they are used to seeing on TV at the weekend, they will have at home.”

Newcastle supporters are already beginning the celebrations ahead of the match. There are already drone displays in the sky over St. James’ Park to excite the fanbase leading up to the game.

Furthermore, the players within the squad feel the excitement, too, so it’s not only the supporters. So PSG will need to go into the match ready to play the role of spoiler to secure all three points.

If PSG picks up a win, the Ligue 1 side could take a commanding lead in Group F with six points.
