As a result, the ridiculing is out in full force. The memes and jokes from established football media outlets to trolls are having fun at the expense of PSG. However, a former player is also taking aim at the French giants after their Matchday 2 UEFA Champions League loss.
Former PSG captain and current Chelsea defender Thiago Silva liked a post criticizing the club for opting to let Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr. this past summer transfer window.

Messi left as a free agent and signed with Inter Miami; meanwhile, Neymar left PSG in a €90 million deal. Nonetheless, with both those players in their starting 11 the last two seasons, PSG could not advance past the Round of 16. Furthermore, they didn’t win the group, losing out to Manchester City and Benfica.
