Paris Saint-Germain was in the market for a goalkeeper this past summer as someone who could compete for Gianluigi Donnarumma. One of the names linked to the capital club was Yassine Bounou.
Sevilla wanted to move the goalkeeper, and there was a market for him. Nonetheless, none of the European clubs vying for him landed the veteran shot-stopper as he would eventually join Al-Hilal.
Nonetheless, Bounou recently revealed that the clubs expressed interest in him before deciding to move his career to Saudi Arabia.
“I was in contact with PSG, Real Madrid and Bayern Munich during the transfer window,” Bounou said (h/t Foot Mercato). “I was one of the options for these clubs. But as you know, in football it’s not just up to me. (…) I am lucky today to be in a club like Al-Hilal, where I am happy and where above all I was their main option.”

PSG did bring Arnau Tenas and kept Keylor Navas to go behind Donnarumma. Nonetheless, at least for now, neither of those two players will be threatening the Italian over his job.
It will be interesting to see how the 24-year-old handles these next two matches against his former club, AC Milan. Especially on November 7, when he returns to a hostile environment at the San Siro, where he’ll be public enemy No. 1.
