Paris Saint-Germain convinced Xavi Simons to return to the French capital after one season with PSV Eindhoven. Afterward, the Ligue 1 giants loaned the 20-year-old midfielder to RB Leipzig for the Dutchman to continue his development.
In his first few matches with Leipzig, Simons shows the production from last season with PSV was no fluke. Furthermore, the PSG loanee is putting himself in elite company to begin his tenure in the Bundesliga.
OptaFranz pointed out on Twitter that Simons has been directly involved in seven goals in his first four Bundesliga games (three goals, four assists) – since detailed data collection in 2004–05, only Paco Alcacer and Erling Haaland have been involved in as many goals in their first four Bundesliga games.

The former PSG youth player will be crucial when he returns from his loan assignment. The French side could use him this season to bring that creativity and offensive capabilities. Nonetheless, seeing Simons grow and gain confidence playing in one of the top leagues in Europe is also a valuable experience.
