Paris Saint-Germain will have plenty of players in action this international window; one of them is defender Milan Škriniar. The 28-year-old and Slovakia will face Portugal on Match Day 5 of the 2024 UEFA Euro qualifying matches.
The PSG center-back will have the challenging task of helping his backline contain a Portuguese attack that includes Cristiano Ronaldo. Although the 38-year-old isn’t in his prime anymore, Škriniar still has plenty of respect for him.
“Everyone knows Cristiano Ronaldo; he is an amazing and incredible goalscorer, and it is difficult to play against him,” Škriniar said. “He can score a goal with every part of his body, but I think we will stop him with our joint efforts.”

If Slovakia were to win over Portugal on Friday at Tehelné Pole, they’d leapfrog them for first place in Group J with five more matchdays left after this contest. Škriniar and Co. have 10 points through four matchdays and now have a clear path to playing international football.
Slovakia is currently in second place, three points ahead of Luxembourg, in the qualifying spot for next summer’s Euros. Nonetheless, should the Slovakian team win on Friday, it will further solidify their quest to qualify to play in the international tournament.
