Paris Saint-Germain has one more contest before they travel to St. James’ Park for their Matchday 2 UEFA Champions League game against Newcastle United.
The capital club will head to Gabriel Montpied Stadium on Saturday to face Clermont Foot. The question surrounding this Ligue 1 match is whether or not Kylian Mbappé is fit to play. Mbappé left the 4-0 win over Olympique de Marseille last Sunday midway through the first half with an injury.
Le Parisien reports the projected starting 11 for PSG in the match against Clermont, and there’s a notable absence. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner isn’t featured.
Gianluigi Donnarumma will start at the goalkeeper position, but there are changes to the backline. Lucas Hernandez and Achraf Hakimi will remain in their respective full-back positions. Meanwhile, there are changes at center-back with Milan Škriniar coming out and Danilo Pereira entering the starting 11 to join Marquinhos.
🚨 Le XI probable du PSG selon @le_Parisien_PSG, des doutes subsistent :
▫️Entre Barcola et Mbappé
▫️Entre Fabian Ruiz et Zaire-Emery
▫️Entre Danilo Pereira et Skriniar

There are changes in the midfield, too. Fabian Ruiz enters for Warren Zaire-Emery to play alongside Manuel Ugarte and Vitinha. Then, in the attack, Bradley Barcola comes in for Mbappé to play with Ousmane Dembélé and Gonçalo Ramos.
PSG doesn’t need Mbappé to beat Clermont, so they’re likely taking it slow to have him ready for Newcastle on Oct. 4.
