The future of Kylian Mbappé remains uncertain as he’s playing this 2023-24 season on an expiring contract. After opting not to trigger the option to extend his contract until 2025, the 24-year-old will be a free agent next summer.
Paris Saint-Germain and Mbappé had a tense relationship during this past summer transfer. However, that’s now all water under the bridge. The 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is at the center of their project this campaign.
However, with the changes in philosophy and departures of star players like Lionel Messi and Neymar Jr., is it enough to keep the player long-term, considering Real Madrid remains lurking?
PSG president Nasser Al-Khelaifi remains confident that the winger will stay with his hometown club past this season.
“Kylian Mbappé is a PSG player,” Al-Khelaifi told Meczyki. “We are happy to have it and we will have him [next season]! He loves this club and he is a fantastic player. It’s the best in the world. We are happy.”

Real Madrid appears to be the only option the Frenchman will consider should he leave Paris. Various rumors have surfaced after the Spanish club showed its weaknesses in the goal-scoring department. Los Blancos will push for the forward beginning in January, but is it enough to leave?
