Neymar, Marco Verratti Highlight PSG’s Massive Transfer Sales to Saudi Arabia and Qatar

Like most European clubs, Paris Saint-Germain are using Saudi Arabia and Qatar to offload players they no longer see as part of their plans. Additionally, they’re recouping a significant transfer fee.

After the latest transfer that has Marco Verratti leaving PSG, the midfielder will continue his career in Qatar by joining Al-Arabi as the capital club receives €45 million for the 30-year-old.

So, who are the other players that left in which the Ligue 1 giants benefitted from a sale?

Neymar is at the top with €90 million who left for Al-Hilal, and then behind the Brazilian is Verratti. Then there’s Abdou Diallo, who also went to Al-Arabi for €15 million, and Georginio Wijnaldum joined Al-Ettifaq for €9 million.

Furthermore, what isn’t shown is the salaries that PSG gets off the books with some of these players. As a result, it provides even further financial aid. These moves and not renewing players like Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos show that the French club is acting wise.
