Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé is off to a hot start this 2023-24 season. Despite dealing with rumors surrounding his future during the summer transfer window, it hasn’t affected his play.
The 24-year-old has scored five goals in three games and has registered back-to-back braces. Mbappé heads into the international break as one of the top goal-scorers in Europe, but where does he rank?
Foot Mercato put the list of the top goal-scorers, and the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is tied for second place. The PSG star shares the same spot with players like Inter Miami’s Lautaro Martinez and Real Madrid’s Jude Bellingham.
However, Mbappé has scored five goals in fewer minutes, considering the Frenchman missed PSG’s first game and only played the second half of game No. 2 this Ligue 1 season.
The only players who have scored more goals than the winger are Manchester City’s Erling Haaland and FC Zenit’s Mateo Cassiera. Both players have scored six goals in their respective leagues. Nonetheless, Cassiera has played 539 minutes.
Still, expect the French national team captain to be one of the top goal-scorers this season.
