Since 2014, all Marco Asensio has known is Real Madrid. Furthermore, the 27-year-old has only played in Spain for his entire career. However, that all changed this summer when he signed with Paris Saint-Germain.
Asensio will be with the capital club until 2026 and is already integrating himself into his new environment. The winger has begun taking French lessons and recently spoke with beIN Sports about his adaptation.
“I had to settle down and find a new home with my wife,” Asensio said. (h/t Canal Supporters). “We didn’t know anyone, and the language was new. It was a bit complicated at first. But now we are settled, very happy. People made us feel welcome, and that helped me adapt quickly.”
While Asensio has to adapt to his personal life, he doesn’t have to make too many adjustments in the pitch. The forward played for manager Luis Enrique while leading the Spanish national team.
As a result, the former Real Madrid player spoke about the 53-year-old and the system he wants to implement. In the contest against RC Lens, the newest PSG member scored his first goal with the club.
It could be a sign that his adaptation on the pitch is going well. PSG has a new-look attack, but it could use a lot of rotation to ensure players are fresh, especially if they want to go on deep runs in the domestic and international tournaments.
