ESPN Pundit Craig Burley Backs PSG and AC Milan to Excel in Group F

Matchday 1 of the UEFA Champions League is officially in the books for Group F. Paris Saint-Germain was the only club to pick up all three points with a 2-0 win against Borussia Dortmund on Tuesday at the Parc des Princes.

Meanwhile, AC Milan and Newcastle played a 0-0 draw at the San Siro earlier in the night. So, after one game, the question is, who will make it through this Group of Death?

ESPN FC’s Craig Burley gave out his prediction as to who he sees coming out of this competitive group. Burley hasn’t always been the biggest PSG supporter, but in this case, he is.

“Yeah, I think so,” Burnley said when asked whether the French giants can advance on ESPN FC Tuesday. “And at the moment, I would head strongly towards Milan, although they showed over the weekend they can throw up a crazy performance.

“But I think they did get back on track tonight even though they didn’t get the three points. They got back on track with the performance and the way they played, and if they can iron out that final third and a few rough edges around it. And I think they are a better side than Newcastle and a better side than Dortmund.”

PSG leads the group with three points and positive momentum. Nonetheless, there are still five matchdays before the Parisians or any other club can think about punching their ticket to the knockout stages.

Still, they can make life difficult for Newcastle should the French side pick up a win on the road at St. James’ Park on Oct. 4.
