Could Erling Haaland and Kylian Mbappé be teammates in the future? If there’s one team that wants both of these players, it’s Real Madrid. Now, can the Spanish giants make it happen?
ESPN FC’s Jan Aage Fjortoft believes that these two players could be playing together in the future. However, it won’t be at Manchester City. So it begs the question, where else could they be teammates?
Fjortoft doesn’t come out and say it’s with Los Blanco, but he leaned that way once the segment for the question began.
“Or [is there] any chance that Haaland will go to Real Madrid?” Fjortoft said on ESPN FC Thursday. “I thought that was the one where they could meet up. I can’t see Mbappé going to City now. I can’t see that that will fit the bill.
“But looking down the road, three, four years down the line, I wouldn’t be surprised if Haaland and Mbappé will play together, and we’ll see where that would go. It would be light blue or white.”
The Paris Saint-Germain star is playing on an expiring contract this 2023-24 season. As a result, Real Madrid will pursue the Frenchman as soon as January comes around to see if they can sign him to a pre-contract.
Nonetheless, the Meringues might have to pay a fee for Haaland, who remains under contract with the Premier League club until 2027. They may also push for the Norweigan to leave as a free agent too.
