The summer transfer window has come and gone, with several clubs spending significant money to improve their team. CIES Football Observatory recently published the most negative net transfer spending in the last decade.
So where does Paris Saint-Germain rank? The capital club (unsurprisingly) is in the top three in negative net transfer since 2013. In the past 10 years, the Ligue 1 giants have a -€1,01 billion. However, they don’t have the top spot.
Manchester United (-€1,40 billion) and Chelsea (-€1,03 billion) are ahead of PSG on this list. The top 10 features mostly English clubs, with AC Milan and FC Barcelona featured to round out the list.

PSG continued to spend money this summer, but it seems more strategic. While the French giants splashed the cash, they did so on players who will be here for the foreseeable future. Furthermore, they’re buying young enough that they can sell and recoup most of what they paid for if it doesn’t work out.
Still, seeing where PSG finishes over the next decade in 2033 will be interesting. Could this more wise spending put them lower or fall outside the top 10?
