Another Dig? Messi Criticizes PSG for Lack of World Cup Recognition

Lionel Messi isn’t missing a chance to take a shot at Paris Saint-Germain since leaving the capital club this summer as a free agent. The 36-year-old eventually signed with Inter Miami, and rather than looking to the future, he continues taking shots at the French giants.

So, what’s the latest from the Argentine regarding PSG? Messi was displeased that he wasn’t the only player from the 2022 FIFA World Cup-winning Argentina squad not to be celebrated by his club.

In an interview (h/t Deportes 24hs), the seven-time Ballon d’Or winner went after PSG again.

“I was the only player [among the world champions] who did not have recognition,” Messi said. “I was in the country against which we won the final.”

The behind-the-scenes stories on how Messi conducted himself at PSG are beginning to emerge from French media outlets. A recent report from L’Equipe notes that the former FC Barcelona star had an altercation with Vitinha.

However, the midfielder denies that any scruffle occurred. Nonetheless, expect these stories to continue to surface as the dust settles from Messi’s departure.
