Paris Saint-Germain has secured their No. 9 for the foreseeable future with Gonçalo Ramos. The Portugal international joins on loan until the end of the 2023-24 season, when PSG can make it a permanent deal.
If the capital club decides to keep the 22-year-old, the fee will be €65 million, plus add-ons. Nonetheless, likely expect the Ligue 1 giants to keep the striker whose stoke will keep rising.
As for why Ramos decided to join PSG? The young goal scorer talked with the club’s official website. He revealed why heading to the French capital club was the ideal step in his career.
“I am very happy and very proud,” Ramos said (h/t Paris Fans). “It is a great pride and a great pleasure to join a club like Paris Saint-Germain. My loved ones are with me, it’s a new experience in my life and in my career, and we’re going to live this new life to the full.
“It was a whole. The fact that PSG is one of the biggest clubs in the world, with one of the biggest squads. There is a coach that I know, and that the whole world knows. All these factors helped me in my decision to join Paris Saint-Germain.”
Ramos had a warm introduction to PSG as the club’s legendary Portuguese striker Pauleta was part of the video that confirmed the Benfica star’s arrival in Paris.
The next step will be whether he plays this Saturday as the French club opens up their 2023-24 Ligue 1 season against FC Lorient at the Parc des Princes.
