Paris Saint-Germain forward Kylian Mbappé remains the obsession of Real Madrid. The Spanish club continues to lurk as they hope to finally land the 24-year-old. Nonetheless, a potential signing will have to come next year.
The capital club will reportedly hold onto the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner. As a result, Los Blancos will go another summer without landing the Frenchman. Still, manager Carlo Ancelotti had alternative plans.
According to Relevo, Ancelotti had Harry Kane as his Plan A and Victor Osimhen as his backup option. However, the Italian tactician had his agenda rejected. Furthermore, Real Madrid has only one plan: Mbappé 2024.
As a result, it wouldn’t be ideal for the club to put forth a massive offer and salary if they want to splurge on Mbappé, especially if the winger becomes a free agent.
Even though Real Madrid has this grand plan, the team can suffer this 2023-24 season. Karim Benzema is gone and is replaced with Joselu, and Vinicius Junior is currently out with a thigh injury.
Real Madrid is taking a gamble, but many will ask whether it will pay off.
