AS Roma is holding its breath as it looks to complete the loan transfer for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Renato Sanches. The 2023-24 Serie A season begins on Aug. 20, and the Italian club likely wants to have him ready.
Transfer window specialist Fabrizio Romano reports that the Serie A side made a recent bid proposing a loan move for Sanches until June 2024, coupled with an option-to-buy clause that is not mandatory.
The decision now rests in PSG’s hands as the French club evaluates Roma’s proposal and weighs its options. PSG has always asked for an obligation option attached to the loan.

However, it seems the Roma will get their way by having the option to purchase the Portugal international at the end of this season. Nonetheless, moving to the Italian capital would be ideal for Sanches.
At Roma, Sanches can attempt to secure minutes as a starter that could allow him to land a spot on the Portugal squad for UEFA Euro 2024. It’s a move that benefits all parties.
