Real Madrid’s Clear Position Amidst Kylian Mbappé Transfer Drama – Report

Only a handful of days are left until the summer transfer window closes on Sept. 1. Nonetheless, the Kylian Mbappé transfer saga remains in the news despite the 24-year-old returning to first-team training this week.

As a result, it seems the 2018 FIFA World Cup winner is on good terms with Paris Saint-Germain. There are even reports of both sides working on an extension

Nonetheless, if Mbappé extends his contract with the capital club, it would complicate any move to Real Madrid. El Chiringuito host Josep Pedrerol reported on Wednesday that Los Blancos have no intention of paying a single euro to PSG for their superstar.

If the Frenchman were to join the Spanish giants, they likely want him to come as a free agent. Mbappé can leave PSG on a free transfer next summer as his contract expires in 2024. The forward opted not to trigger the option to extend his contract until 2025.

Pedrerol adds that Real Madrid hopes that any agreement that Mbappé has with the Ligue 1 giants, leading to his return, is solely on forgiving any bonus payments owed to the player.

This saga will likely head into the 2023-24 season, so buckle up, as the rumor mill will keep turning.

  1. From Real Madrid’s pov, we want to progress along the plan – no Mbappe for this season so that Vini and Rodrygo get 1 more year of experience at the club. Any young striker will want to play in front of our A1 young midfield – Mbappe is no different. When he arrives as a free agent next season then the squad is experienced and settled and he has to fit into the playing style. This gives the club more power than simply handing over control to Mbappe like PSG/Qatar did. From Mbappe’s pov, he should have joined when he was a free agent last time. He will have wasted 2 years of settling in time at RM – he re-joined PSG for the bonuses and PSG have now muscled him out of it. Every year wasted is settling in time gone. From the RM fan’s pov? We will eventually get him as a normal player who has to fit into a team that is already playing to his strengths. Oh, and BTW – we did offer 200M for him -got rejected and that hour is past now.
